Vancouver Supports Its Artists

Good news for artists in Vancouver! The city will be creating over 26, 300 sq. ft. of studio and creative space on 2 city-owned properties. “Vancouver has the highest concentration of artists in Canada, and artists continue to constitute one of the fastest-growing segments of our labour force” said Mayor Gregor Robertson. Artists do a lot to impact the culture and life of a city, and it’s not by coincidence that Vancouver draws so many artists from around the country, especially from prairie art schools like ACAD.

It’s really inspiring to see steps taken by a city to promote and support their local artists through affordable work space. I think this is a great move and will definitely be great for all the Emily Carr/VFS grads!
